Green Wash UK receives Young Entrepreneur Award for an Ecological Waterless Car Wash

Green Wash UK – Waterless Car Wash company director receives Young Entrepreneur Award

Green Wash is a student led company situated in London, England. It was founded in November 2009 by 5 second-year students from Kingston University London with the support of the university’s academic team and mentors and an international program called – Young Enterprise, which aims to support young people around the world to take their first steps as entrepreneurs. Below, Simeon Ivanov on the left  receiving his award.

These young business students spent months in researching the English market, trying to find the best solution for a business project. Their choice was an ecological waterless car wash. Simeon Ivanov, Managing Director of Green Wash says: “England is one of the most developed countries in the world and environmental sustainability and corporate social responsibility is something that big companies are striving to incorporate in their operations. We have decided to make those two things the core of our business and Green Wash seemed like the best choice.”

Having started as just a small university project, Green Wash is already turning into a real business for the young students. Their determination and hard work has lured the attention of several other organizations which are willing to provide their support for the expansion of the entity.

The team of Green Wash has decided to work exclusively with the leaders in the waterless car wash industry – the American company Freedom Waterless Car Wash. Having such a partner across the ocean allows the young firm to gain access to the long and successful experience and professional support of their American colleagues.

Moreover, only 3 months after Green Wash was established, the firm won a prestigious award for its business plan. The Bright Ideas Awards is an annual event which gathers students from South England to compete with different projects for financing in the form of grants. Green Wash was chosen as a runner-up project in February 2010 from over 270 competitors, despite competing mostly against social enterprises. Simeon Ivanov and his colleagues Zahra Ghozzat, Rustam Mashanlo, Ruslan Murtazin and Eni Koci commented after the final event: “It is a great honor for us to be awarded a Bright Ideas grant after only three months of running our project. This confirms that we are heading in the right direction and that our business plan has been positively judged by many people. This only makes us stronger and inspires us to try to achieve more.”

In their search for business partners and clients, Green Wash has also attracted the city’s council in their London region – Kingston. After observing their business plan, the young students were invited to present their waterless car wash products at one of the biggest environmental events in London in May 2010. The “Paint the town green” event has the main aim to raise the awareness of current environmental issues. “We are very happy and grateful to have that opportunity to present our great products in front of such a big audience. We will do our best to prepare as good as possible for the festival. We want to thank Kingston council for their trust in our abilities” – says Simeon.

Green Wash has started with a small investment of $900 which those 5 students raised by themselves. Currently, only five months later, the firm has revenue of over $2,000 and negotiates several deals which from the words of the management team would double and even triple their profits in only a few months. “We spent many hours working on developing Green Wash from scratch into a real firm. Now, only five months later, we are proud to state that we are already competing with the biggest companies in England. Yes, we are taking small steps, but we are trying to leave no customer unsatisfied along the way as this is what Green Wash is all about. We aim to provide quality, speed, and convenience for our clients and at the same time preserve the fresh water for the generations to come.” – says the young Managing Director.

The management team of Green Wash said that they do not fear competition and will be happy to attract more of the rival companies to enter the market with the same type of products. According to them this will not only make their great products more popular for the English market, it will also work in the great cause of raising people’s awareness for the environmental issues and even more important – provide them with a solution to preserve nature by helping themselves at the same time.
